Sara Piñeros is a filmmaker born and based in Bogotá, Colombia. Her practice encompasses various documentary forms, such as essay film, video diary and epistolary film. In her current works, Sara assembles amateur archival footage with fictional elements, in order to construct a new discourse and meaning that approximates her intimately with the original material. Her films have been shown in Film Festivals such as Doclisboa, Kasseler Dokfest, Ficci, Diagonale and Midbo, among other festivals and screenings in Latinamerica and Europe.
In 2024, together with the sound artist Alejandro Quiñones Roa, she founded the production and postproduction company Ojo de Agua Cine.
